Essaye de faire un sudo updatedb . Ça actualisera la base de mlocate. Celle-ci se fait par un timer de systemd par défaut chaque jour à minuit.
Si le PC est éteint à ce moment, le service se lance au boot suivant et si il y a du retard, ça peut pendre du temps.

:salut: Intéressant tout ça... je tombe sur le sujet en cherchant pourquoi, même en vidant le cache de mon navigateur, après avoir supprimé l'historique etc. mes recherches duckduck ou autres sont pipées et me renvoient à des renseignements concernant mon modèle de voiture par ex., pour lesquels je pensais avoir supprimé toute trace afin d'avoir des résultats différents...

aucune idée de ce que signifie pour toi "louche" - tu peux sans doute te passer de lvm si tu n'utilises pas ce type de partitions...
Il est possible de faire un systemctl cat ********** si l'on désire plus d'infos sur un service "louche"

Ce qui prend du temps, sont des services disque (dur) et connexion réseau
Certains services (lancés une fois par jour /semaine / mois) peuvent êtres long (updatedb, mandb, ...), rien d'alarmant.

Pour rappel, ces taches sont lancées "presque" en parallèle ; donc supprimer un service de 5 secondes ne va pas obligatoirement rendre le boot plus rapide de 5 secondes

:bjr: Comme précisé plus haut par papajoke, les services démarrent en parallèle, inutile donc de désactiver un service qui, au final ne changera strictement rien au temps de boot. Les seuls qui plombent le temps de démarrage et qu'il faut, non pas désactiver, mais dont la séquence doit être absolument décalée, sont les timers des updates. Ceci fait, le gain est très sensiblement perceptible. J'avoue que je ne comprends pas trop pourquoi ces deux services chronophages sont lancés par défaut au démarrage. :confus:

Les timers ne sont pas lancés au petit matin mais si on n'indique pas d'heure (cas par défaut) ils sont lancé à minuit.
Avec persistent=true, si le pc est éteint, alors ils sont lancés au prochain démarrage.

Donc si l'on précise une heure "de travail", il y a des chances qu'il ne soit pas lancé au boot...

Pour man-db, c'est un réglage archlinux (qui a des mises à jours quotidiennes), nous nous sommes plutôt sur une mise à jour (de quelques man) par week-end !
Donc il est possible de régler le service énergivore en temps à une exécution par semaine :

Nous sommes bien d'accord. Ce qui m'embête perso, pour Manjaro uniquement car les archers savent ou devraient savoir modifier les paramètres des timers, c'est cette option OnBoot qui fait les updates pendant le démarrage alors que c'est le pire moment puisque c'est précisément à cet instant que le matériel est le plus sollicité et que les utilisateurs sont (voir le nombre de sujets, ici et ailleurs, sur la "lenteur du démarrage"), pour la plupart, très attentifs au temps de démarrage de leur machine. Ce que je veux dire en gros : Il serait bien que les devs de Manjaro se penchent sur ce problème, ancien mais récurent, en amont par l'ajout d'une surcouche (override.conf) sous forme d'un manjaro-script afin de résoudre cet encombrement du boot qui n'apporte que des retours négatifs. Je sais que la critique est aisée et qu'on me répondra à juste titre : "qu'attends-tu pour en faire la demande ?". Et bien tout simplement, honte sur moi, je ne vais que très rarement sur le forum inter. :oops: Pour conclure, je pense que tout ce qui permet d'éviter les écueils de Arch devrait être fait et c'est d'ailleurs la philosophie de notre chère distribution. Après, il est juste de rappeler que le team de manjaro est assez restreint mais je crois que ce sujet devrait, malgré tout, figurer au cahier des charges. :wink:

Nous n'en avons que très peu :wink:systemctl list-timers

Dont 2 très gros (relatif pour les ssd) : man-db et updatedb
Par défaut c'est réglé quotidiennement sur tous linux ; je ne pense donc pas que manjaro veille bien changer cet intervalle.
  • man-db
    Pour le plupart des utilisateurs il pourrait être réglé sur une mise à jour mensuelle vu l'intense utilisation du man de l'utilisateur classique
  • updatedb
    c'est la construction d'une base de donnée fichiers pour l'utilisation de locate. perso je suis à un lancement par semaine (c'est mal?) sans problème apparent.
    je n'utilise pas cette commande en console et j'ignore par quel programme elle est utilisée.

Soit nous faisons un timer à partir du boot OnBootSec soit à partir d'un calendrier (a confirmer mais c'est dans le man ...?).
ici, OnBootSec n'est pas intéressant, on ne va pas faire une maj 20 minutes après chaque boot : si l'on fait 4 boot par jour...
Malheureusement avec le calendrier, le timer se déclenche dès que la machine est disponible après la date/heure donnée. Seules les machines de travail ont des horaires ! pour un particulier qu'elle est la bonne heure ou risque d'être allumée la machine ??
Pour un particulier cela doit être 19h00 ou 22h00 ? Si manjaro la règle à 19h00, pour ceux qui allumerons leur machine après rien ne changera : se sera le boot du soir ; réglé à 22h00 pour certains le service sera lancé au premier boot du lendemain. A noter que si l'on ne démarre pas une fois par jour sa machine, alors quelque soit l'heure, nous aurons toujours le lancement au boot.
Il suffit de trouver le bon horaire, après on peut proposer à manjaro d'ajouter un fichier à l'iso type

:bjr: Concernant lvm2-monitor.service il est inutile de le désactiver (service static), il mangera toujours quelques secondes au démarrage. Et oui, systemd n'est pas ce que l'on fait de mieux niveau personnalisation :siffle

:bjr: Merci d'avoir ouvert ce sujet, cela m'a permis de remettre un peu d'ordre dans le timer d'updatedb qui est tout à la fois gourmand et difficile à configurer. Du coup je l'ai modifié de manière à ce qu'il ne vienne jamais polluer le temps de démarrage de ma machine. :pompom:
Voici le résultat :

# /usr/lib/systemd/system/updatedb.timer
[Unit]
Description=Daily locate database update

[Timer]
OnCalendar=daily
AccuracySec=12h
Persistent=true

# /etc/systemd/system/updatedb.timer.d/override.conf
[Timer]
# 15 min après le boot et chaque jour à 20h15

OnBootSec=15min
Persistent=false

A adapter cela les habitudes de chacun.
OnBootSec est facultatif si l'on est certain que la machine soit sur "on" à l'heure programmée. Une sécurité supplémentaire, donc. :sourire:
